Children's Privacy

SafeTag is directed at parents and guardians, not at children. Children cannot register, sign in, upload anything or communicate through SafeTag. There is no chat, no messaging, no comments and no child-facing interactive feature. Every piece of information about a child is entered by the adult who created the account.

By creating a Child SafeTag you confirm you are the child’s parent or legal guardian, and you are consenting on their behalf to the specific information you enter being shown to whoever holds the tag. You decide every field, and you can change or remove any of it, or disable the tag entirely, at any moment from your dashboard.

We ask for the least information needed to reunite a child with a parent:

• a first name or nickname — a full legal name is not required and not recommended;
• an optional photo, which is off by default;
• a short message for the finder;
• one or more phone numbers for parents or guardians;
• optional communication or safety notes, for example if the child is non-verbal.

We never ask for and you should never enter: a home address, a school name, a date of birth, a government identifier, or the child’s own phone number or email address.

SafeTag has no GPS and never reports a tag’s location. We do not record who scans a tag, we do not build profiles of children, and we never use children’s information for advertising, marketing or analytics. We do not disclose it to third parties except the infrastructure providers that host the service on our instructions, or where the law requires it.

A parent or guardian can review and edit everything on a child’s profile in the app. To have a child’s information deleted entirely, delete the profile from your dashboard or email privacy@blackwelldesignsco.com from the address on the account. Deleting removes the profile, its notes, its contacts and its photo, and the tag stops showing anything. We will not require you to disclose more information than necessary to act on the request.

If we discover that an account was created by someone under 18, we will close it and delete the associated information promptly. If you believe a child has created an account or that a profile has been published without the guardian’s consent, contact us at privacy@blackwelldesignsco.com and we will investigate.
