Terms of Service
Version 1.0 · Effective 9 August 2026
These terms are an agreement between you and Blackwell Designs covering SafeTag tags, the SafeTag website and the emergency profiles you publish through them. By creating an account or activating a SafeTag you accept these terms.
1. Who may use SafeTag
SafeTag accounts are for adults only. You must be at least 18 years old and be the parent, legal guardian or lawful owner of the child or pet described in a profile you create. Children never create accounts and must not be asked to manage a SafeTag profile.
2. Your account
You are responsible for keeping your sign-in credentials and your secret claim codes confidential. Claim codes prove ownership of a physical tag; anyone holding a claim code for an unactivated tag can activate it. Tell us immediately if you believe an account or claim code has been compromised.
3. Public emergency profiles
- Every activated SafeTag has a public web page. Anyone who holds, scans or is given the tag link can view the profile you publish, without signing in.
- You choose what appears. Do not publish home addresses, school names, birth dates, medical record numbers or anything else you would not want a stranger to see.
- You confirm that you have the right to publish every photo, name and phone number you add, including permission from any other contact you list.
- You can disable a SafeTag at any time from your dashboard. A disabled tag stops showing any profile information.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- publish unlawful, harassing, deceptive or infringing content;
- impersonate another person or create a profile for someone you do not care for;
- attempt to guess, enumerate, scrape or brute-force tag links or claim codes, or probe the service for vulnerabilities without written permission;
- use SafeTag to track, surveil or monitor an adult without their knowledge.
5. Tags and replacements
Physical tags are consumer products and can be lost, damaged or worn. If a tag is lost or destroyed you can move a profile onto a new tag using the replacement flow in your dashboard; the old tag is retired and stops working. Tags are single-profile: each tag points to one emergency profile at a time.
6. Service availability and safety disclaimer
SafeTag is an aid to reunification, not an emergency service, a tracking device or a medical device. It has no GPS and does not report a tag’s location. It depends on a finder having a working phone and internet connection, and on the service being reachable. Always contact your local emergency number first in an emergency. The service is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent permitted by law.
7. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Blackwell Designs is not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for any loss arising from a tag not being scanned, a profile not being reachable, or a finder choosing not to make contact. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
8. Suspension and termination
We may suspend or disable an account or a tag that breaches these terms, is used unlawfully, or puts a child, pet or third party at risk. You may stop using SafeTag at any time and ask us to delete your account and profiles.
9. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. Material changes will be shown in the app and the version number above will change. Continuing to use SafeTag after an update means you accept the revised terms.
